I’ve you’ve ever talked to me on the phone, you know that my mantra is “doing whatever it takes to deliver results”. I don’t like to sell packages of inputs. I like to sell results. That said, if you are considering our Full Service SEO program you should be aware of the various inputs so that you can cross these off your list of things to do.

Please note that this list is subject to change at any time based on our assessment of which actions are delivering the best results.


I. Local SEO Citations

A major part of Local search optimization is matching Name, Address, Phone citations across the internet.

Account Creation and Enhancement

We will manually create and enhance your profile on the top tier web directories. At the same time, we will correct any data errors that we encounter. (If you have changed your address, phone number or website in the last 2 years, you’d be amazed at how much of your old information still exists in these directories!) Our list of directories is over 300 long. The ten most vital ones include:

  • Google Maps
  • Yahoo Local
  • Bing Local
  • SuperPages
  • Yelp
  • InsiderPages
  • Wellness.com
  • Manta
  • Kudzu
  • Citysearch

You’ll receive a comprehensive list of all your listing links, logins and passwords to these sites.

What You are Expected to Provide

  1. Pictures – All the top tier local directories accept pictures and providing high quality, attractive photos will help your listing stand out. We will ask you for about 20 different photos to work with including interior, exterior, staff headshots and interactions with patients.
  2. Logins to claimed profiles – Creating duplicate listings is a very bad idea, so we will need your logins to any profiles you have already claimed.
  3. Verification support – Some of the directories require a phone or postcard verification. You’ll be responsible for gathering any postcards and providing us with the PIN number on them. We may also need you front office staff to do a few phone verifications.


II. On-Page SEO

We will make adjustments and improvements to your website that are helpful to visitors and very helpful to search engines. We will restructure your website content as needed to improve navigation.

We have an extensive list of on-page SEO factors to implement. Note that not every website platform will allow us to actually make the changes we want to make. If you have one of our WordPress sites, everything in this list will be possible. The websites provided by Chiromatrix, Perfect Patients, Chirobuilt, Onlinechiros, etc all have varying levels of flexibility.

Behind-the-Scenes Items

These items are largely invisible to visitors and you may not notice any change. These are mostly coding changes.

  • Address in vcard format
  • Reviews in hReview format
  • XML sitemap creation
  • Sitemap submission to Google and Bing Webmaster Tools
  • Home page meta data
  • Meta data for key internal SEO-entry pages
  • Renaming of images
  • Adding alt text to images
  • Robots.txt file
  • Fixing broken links
  • Redirecting error pages
  • Physical address on every page
  • Embedded Google Map on Contact page

Content and Navigation

These changes will be visible to you and your visitors and are designed to improve navigation and search performance.

  • Collaborating on a rewrite of your home page text (if necessary)
  • Reorganizing content so that each page is about 1 topic only
  • Pasting reviews from third party sites onto the Reviews page on your website
  • Adjusting navigation menus
  • Adding social media icons
  • Adding social bookmarking and sharing options
  • Adding internal links pointing to your key SEO entry pages
  • Adding a standard call to action to the bottom of new blog posts

What You are Expected to Provide

You are expected to provide the text for your website. We’ll be looking for a minimum of 10 pages of 400 words each that is original text you have written. If you cannot provide this text in the first two months, your SEO program will not achieve the desired results. You will have the option of hiring a professional writer to create the text if you cannot. Note that this requirement applies even if you have a cloned website with hundreds of pages of content already on it.


III. Social Media

Account Creation and Enhancement

We will manually create and enhance your profile on the top tier social sites. At the moment this includes:

  • Facebook Fan Page
  • Google Plus for Business
  • Twitter
  • YouTube
  • Foursquare

If you already have a profile, we will optimize and enhance that profile instead of starting a new ones.

Content Posting

We will post to your text-based social accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus) twice per week with interesting content, relevant to your patients.

What You are Expected to Provide

If you don’t have any followers, fans or connections to your social pages, no one will see the content we post. It is your responsibility to encourage your patients and staff to engage with you on social media. Please note that there are many services that sell fans or followers. These people are generally not local to you and will not help your business long term. However, if you have <100 current fans or followers, it may be a good idea to give your page a ‘kick-start’.


IV. Off Page SEO

In addition to having a great website, your website will need some “popularity votes” from other web pages in order to outperform other local healthcare sites offering similar content and services. Popularity votes generally come in the form of links to your website. We will manage your link sources, link diversity and link speed. Forget about all the advice about what looks natural to search engines. The Google guys are smart enough to know that a huge percentage of all link building is engineered, not natural. Our approach is steady and sensible utilizing multiple methods.

V. Reporting and Tracking

Our focus is on results, so we do a lot of tracking and monitoring. We will take baseline measurements at the outset and provide quantitative reports every month.

  • Baseline website rankings in all major search engines across 100+ core search phrases
  • Ongoing website traffic volume and source reports

We hope that this overview gives you a better idea of what to expect and the volume of work being done on your behalf. Excellent SEO requires hard work and can only be partially automated. Beware of fully automated systems that do not offer the extensive local SEO citations (Section I), time-intensive on-page services (Section II), don’t keep up with posting on your social media accounts after creating them (Section III), and don’t clearly show you the results achieved (Section V). There are a lot of SEO programs that only address Section IV, the off-page link building. Recognize that this is only one part of the complete picture.

Your Website – The Critical Ingredient

Please do not ask us to rank a crummy website. While this IS possible with enough time and effort, you won’t generate actual new patient appointments from the web visitors if the website is poor.
